It often happens that PDF documents are created exclusively as double pages, for example, when they are print sheets for magazines, catalogs, or journals. Split double pages with Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader

 

  1. First, open the PDF file you want to split in Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
  2. Go to File > Print to open the print dialog window.
  3. From the drop-down menu of available printers, select “Adobe PDF.” If this option is not available to you, follow our instructions to install “Adobe PDF” as a printer.
  4. In the opened print window, find a section titled „Page Sizing & Handling.“ Click the “Poster” button, change the tile scale to 99.9%, and check the box for “Cut only large pages.”

5. Optionally, you can set the printer’s default settings to “PDF/A-1b:2005 (RGB)” in the print properties. This is the standard format for the archival of electronic documents according to ISO standards, making it ideal for storing PDF files.

6. We can provide you with a more detailed step-by-step guide, including for older versions of Adobe software and documents with formats other than A4, upon request.

Finally, click “Print” and choose the location for your converted PDF file. The new PDF document will now be saved as a single-page document in the folder you selected.
